01:48 now of course I'm not referring to necessary things like food and toilet paper which are definitely Necessary Things esally if you remember that whole scenario of the toilet paper shortage during the pandemic but what I'm talking about here more specifically is all this holiday season shopping Mania relentlessly forced Upon Us by marketing criminals intentionally pushing the urge to conform to validate our existence by purchasing unnecessary future landfill material and pressing that urge upon us like no other time during the year like

en becoming unplugged back in:04:14 laughable irony of this was the very people that accused me of either the former or the latter I considered to be guilty of the very things that they were accusing me of I became fully aware for example that ultimately although many people don't know or understand this consumerism is a religious cult and because it is so deeply ingrained from the Cradle to the Grave those who cut ties with it become very suspect in the view of others allow me to explain you see the one thing that sets consumerism as a religion apart from so

06:40 dysfunction that goes with it begins to go away and in my case it took only 5 years but the one thing I had going for me was that I have never been religious and as I said I can totally understand how getting rid of this very dysfunctional codependent association between consumerism and religion can be so difficult especially since the consumer pathology is very often tied to religion at any rate one of the main things I can tell you is how I have felt so much better in my life for the last 30 years being free of that holiday season
