UNDERSTANDING GUT FEELINGS, YOUR DEFENSIVE SUPER WEAPON EP.9 PT.1

The Power of Perception: Why Your Gut Knows More Than You Think

Hey folks, Earnest Mann here. This episode is all about one of the most underrated abilities you already have — perception. Ever felt something was “off” about someone or some place? That wasn’t paranoia. That was your internal warning system firing off. The real kicker? It’s not coming from the brain in your head, but from the "gut brain" — and yes, that’s a real thing.

Trust Your Gut — It's Literally Another Brain

I break down how your gut instinct isn’t just some old saying. There's actual science behind it. You’ve got three brains: the one in your skull, the one in your gut, and one in your intestinal tract. Each plays a vital role in perception, decision-making, and survival. Your gut can often sense danger or opportunity faster than your rational brain ever could.

Mass Consciousness vs. Personal Wisdom

I bring up a hard truth — many people ignore something until society gives it permission to believe. Case in point: it took doctors nearly two centuries to accept germ theory, even when it was saving lives. Just because something isn't "mainstream" yet doesn't mean it's not powerful or real. Your personal perception might just be ahead of the crowd.

Social Chemistry and the Empathic Brain

I explain how some people seem to naturally attract others. It’s not looks or charm. It’s the silent language of wellness signals your body picks up on. Your empathic brain detects strength, safety, or danger through facial cues and body language. And yes, this also explains why you’re magnetized or repelled by someone instantly.

From Avoiding Trouble to Improving Your Life

If you’ve ever gotten a bad vibe and acted on it, that wasn’t luck — that was you listening to your perception. I share how tuning into these subtle signals can not only keep you safe but also improve the quality of your social life and decision-making. Ignoring this ability is like throwing away a built-in superpower.

have you ever noticed in your life that

0:02

some people seem to have a lot of good

0:04

luck and others you know seem to have

0:07

well a lot of bad this is not your

0:10

imagination and it's really not a bad

0:12

thing either because it's just showing

0:15

that your perception antennas are

0:17

perhaps just a bit more sensitive than

0:20

others hello my name is Ernest welcome

0:23

and what I talk about in this series are

0:26

the unfortunate consequences of ignoring

0:28

one of the greatest abilities you

0:30

naturally possess perception so with no

0:33

ado let's dive right in

0:38

imagine you have something that can

0:40

protect you from two-legged predators

0:44

but it's not a knife or a gun matter of

0:47

fact it's not even visible hello I'm

0:51

Ernest welcome

0:54

if you've ever been lucky enough in your

0:57

life to suddenly have uncomfortable

1:00

feelings and you decided to immediately

1:03

remove yourself from that person or

1:06

place it's not so much that you were

1:10

lucky but you had a functional early

1:13

warning system and you decided to pay

1:16

attention to that system and because you

1:20

decided to listen to that message it

1:23

ended up saving you a great deal of

1:26

grief if not even your life

1:30

this may surprise you but many people

1:34

erroneously believe that the mind and

1:36

the brain are the same and that it's

1:39

that gray matter that's around 60% fat

1:43

between your ears that is actually not

1:47

the case

1:49

while it's true that a significant

1:51

portion of what's taking place with us

1:54

is in fact encased in our skull and is

1:58

what is generally referred to as the

2:00

brain when it comes down to it for the

2:04

most part the brain is simply a

2:07

processing unit its primary function is

2:11

to process our surface level essential

2:15

sensory impressions

2:17

it processes vision for example to help

2:21

make sense of the world so we don't walk

2:25

into walls or off cliffs and such

2:29

but it often fails in keeping us from

2:34

making stupid decisions because in

2:36

reality that's not what it's meant to do

2:41

for those of you who are impatient out

2:43

there I'm going to make an outrageous

2:46

statement much of your interaction with

2:49

the world particularly with other people

2:52

isn't really coming from your brain in

2:55

your head but your mind in your stomach

3:00

when you understand a concept especially

3:03

if it's beneficial you don't have much

3:07

problem going along with it simply

3:09

because it's understood and accepted but

3:13

until that time comes a practice can

3:17

actually be truthful and effective but

3:20

either completely ignored or even

3:23

ridiculed if the concept has not reached

3:27

mass consciousness i.e mass acceptance

3:33

for example

3:34

it's only been roughly around 160 years

3:40

before a certain click of professionals

3:45

commonly referred to as doctors other

3:48

healthc care providers began to

3:50

understand the connection and

3:52

correlation between washing their hands

3:56

andor the sterilization of their medical

4:00

tools

4:02

dramatically improving the survival

4:05

rates of patients particularly those

4:08

that had had surgeries

4:11

and the primary reason for that is that

4:14

they had not incorporated the concept of

4:17

germs or more accurately germ theory

4:22

into their consciousness

4:24

but once that was established roughly

4:28

around:

4:30

survival rates dramatically improved

4:33

that is to say it was the direct result

4:37

of advanced perception

4:40

so with that in mind what I'm trying to

4:42

tell you is that we actually have three

4:46

brains if you will each with very

4:50

different functions there is the brain

4:52

in our head

4:54

the brain in our stomach the brain of

4:58

our intestinal tract all of which are

5:01

supposed to work synergistically to

5:04

produce a physically mentally and even

5:07

spiritually healthy person and if any of

5:11

those systems are out of whack you end

5:15

up with a person who is physically or

5:18

mentally out of whack or possibly even

5:22

both

5:24

this explains I believe rather

5:27

convincingly

5:29

why the hell so many people in the world

5:32

appear to have collectively lost their

5:35

minds today

5:38

especially those in government or big

5:41

business

5:45

now I'm not going to go into the

5:48

particulars of the two other minds right

5:51

now perhaps I'll do so in part two but

5:56

the important thing right now is that

5:58

you know about this because as soon as

6:02

you understand this concept and I fully

6:05

understand the many reasons for any

6:08

skepticism

6:10

the sooner you can make certain

6:13

necessary adjustments that will improve

6:16

your life

6:18

hence the analogy I gave about doctors

6:21

and related health care professionals of

6:24

160 years ago in the very beginning they

6:28

didn't quite have the science to

6:31

understand why it worked but they came

6:34

to eventually understand and accept the

6:37

fact that it did work and ultimately

6:41

that's what matters

6:43

if you've ever wondered how you can meet

6:45

a person for the very first time and

6:48

something either really clicks in a

6:50

positive way with them or totally

6:54

doesn't click that's your gut reaction

6:59

speaking

7:00

and if you follow it you'll find that

7:04

the vast majority of the time your gut

7:07

reaction will turn out to be absolutely

7:12

correct

7:13

but the entire key

7:16

is to learn to tune in and not ignore

7:19

the message you are being sent what I

7:23

think is necessary to make clear is I'm

7:27

talking about people that are going to

7:30

be part of your social circle or you at

7:34

least have to briefly do business with

7:38

the barista that makes your ridiculously

7:41

overpriced cappuccino for example is not

7:45

really going to matter very much i'm not

7:49

saying that you won't get signals about

7:53

anyone else you come into contact with

7:58

but this is where your main or what I

8:01

like to refer to as the emphatic brain

8:05

comes in

8:07

you may for example get bad vibes from

8:10

that barista

8:12

but the emphatic brain instantly tells

8:15

you to not be concerned that they are

8:19

not a threat

8:22

this is another reason why you'll notice

8:25

that in social situations

8:29

there are people that seem to attract

8:31

others like mouse to a flame

8:36

outwardly you look at them there really

8:39

doesn't seem to be anything that special

8:42

about them matter of fact they may seem

8:46

quite ordinary

8:48

but if you begin to watch them closely

8:51

and I'm talking about their facial

8:54

expressions in particular you'll find

8:57

yourself drawn to them just like

9:00

apparently everyone else is and that

9:03

attraction is not coming from your

9:06

reason or logic circuits the emphatic

9:10

brain it's coming from the wellness

9:13

sensors in your stomach which are

9:17

actually connected to your sensory

9:19

inputs and are attuned to detect

9:23

wellness because humans are attracted to

9:26

strength and health and this is

9:29

particularly the case with women because

9:33

their very lives actually depend on it

9:36

but that is a another story for another

9:40

time

9:42

if you've enjoyed or found informative

9:44

what I've shared with you today please

9:47

do consider subscribing and maybe even

9:50

telling a friend and if by any chance

9:54

you do happen to have a large sum of

9:58

unused funds just lying around you're

10:02

not doing anything with i would

10:05

certainly appreciate getting that

10:08

because eating something besides beans

10:11

and hot dogs would certainly make my

10:15

stomach very happy

10:18

until next time this is Ernest and I

10:21

usually always am

About the Podcast

The Earnest Mann Show
A truly unique podcast.
One of the many things I enjoy doing in life, is helping other people the best way I know how, by offering people a sanctuary of sanity in a world gone mad.
I do this by offering a different perspective, a realist perspective on just about anything and everything.
You see, I have found, that there can be amazing relevant connections in our everyday life, from very unlikely sources.
For example -
We share certain commonalities there are important to all of our survival, the air we breathe, the food we eat and the water we all need Just to name a few.
but what is equally - if not even more important - is getting people to understand that it's the sharing of resources - both intellectual and physical - that is what is ultimately going to not only raise our standard of living, but ensure our collective survival into the future.
In Realist terms, this process is known as, symbiosis.
That is why I created Advanced Perception via The Earnest Mann Show, a place where you can freely discuss just about anything and everything, the ONLY exception, are discussions that are based on delusional and/or magical thinking, which ultimately are negative, and genocidal in nature.
So let's get together, and discuss our problems, because a good idea can definitely change the world for the better, and that's been historically proven, over and over again.
Hope to hear from you soon - Earnest

Stephen Cobb

As I don’t wish to presume you have all the time in the world, here’s just a tiny little bit, about the Earnest Mann you’re reaching out to…..

I’m just a relatively normal man, I say relatively, considering all that life has put me through… so far.

In the shortest possible terms, I believe it would be extremely difficult, for anyone to have experienced all that I have in life up to this point, and not be expected to show some signs of physiological and psychological wear and tear as a consequence of those experiences.

Yet because of those experiences, are what produces something that simply cannot be bought or learned at University... character.

A very good lady friend of mine, once described me much like a well-old catcher’s mitt, used... but well oiled, comfortable and dependable to the user…

Well, if that’s what some folks consider to be character, I guess I don’t have any damn problem, being compared to an old catcher’s mitt at all! Ha, ha, ha.

As far as employment and business, I’ve done it all. From being a deckhand on a fishing boat in the Bering Sea, – and almost dying as a consequence – to extensive experience, in the entertainment business, the restaurant/bar business, sociological research and sapient defense metrics to name just a few of my many life experiences.

Now, throw in a good deal of experiencing – and surviving – bizarre life situations, which I definitely would not have made it through, if not for utilizing my self developed Advanced Perception, and voilà, you end up with….well…. me, and sometimes, to be completely honest, sometimes, I was also very damn lucky! Hahaha.

So if your life’s not so great right now, or more accurately, if it’s gone to hell in a handbasket, reach out to me via the contact page below, and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can, and we’ll see if we can’t make things better, perhaps, much better.
Until our paths fatefully meet friend, take care – Earnest.
