WHAT YOUR CHILDHOOD IS SUPPOSED TO TEACH YOU. PC 462 EARNEST MANN’S ADVANCED PERCEPTION EP.19
Understanding Proportionality: A Lesson Most Adults Miss
Hello, Earnest Mann here! In this episode, I'm talking about proportionality, a vital life lesson that many of us were supposed to learn in childhood—but didn’t. If you're wondering why life still feels off-balance or why certain past passions now seem downright embarrassing, then this episode is for you.
Childhood Memories and the Power of Reflection
I guide you through a powerful self-awareness experiment using childhood memories to spark something I call advanced perception. You’ll list the things that once brought you joy—your favorite toys, events, or even your first car—and you'll see how your emotional connection to those things has evolved.
The Hilarious and Humbling Truth About My First Car
Through a personal story involving my brown 1977 Datsun B210 hatchback, I show how skewed our sense of proportion can be. I was convinced it would transform me into a local legend, only to be faced with the reality that it was more of a lawnmower on wheels than a “chick magnet.”
Why Most Adults Still Don’t Understand Proportionality
This isn't just a trip down memory lane—it's a tool for growth. That feeling of deep embarrassment you may now have about your past loves? That’s not shame—it’s growth. That’s you gaining proportionality. And once you understand this concept, life begins to shift in profound and permanent ways.
I would like to meet - both online and in person - individuals interested in discussing ideas on what really needs to be changed, to improve the quality of our lives.

Greetings. Here are ideas and
0:03
information intended to help you
0:05
navigate the mind field of life's many
0:08
problems that I have gained through a
0:10
self-realization process known as
0:13
advanced perception. Through advanced
0:16
perception, we learn that we are not
0:19
getting working answers to our problems
0:22
because we're asking the wrong
0:24
questions. So if you have an open mind
0:26
and understand that you have absolutely
0:29
nothing to lose, here it is. But this is
0:32
not free. It requires that you pay
0:36
attention.
0:46
Do you remember your childhood?
0:48
There was a vital lesson you were
0:50
supposed to learn. And if you didn't,
0:53
here's your chance to learn it now.
0:56
Hello, this is Ernest. Welcome.
1:00
Most of us don't think very often about
1:02
our childhood. Depending on our age, we
1:06
may, for example, look through our
1:08
parents' photo album. Do those things
1:11
even still exist
1:13
of us as children? But there was a very
1:17
important lesson that many of us didn't
1:20
learn. And regardless of your current
1:23
biological age, that lesson that can
1:27
still be learned is proportionality.
1:31
I'm going to ask you to try this
1:33
experiment.
1:35
If you don't have the time, find the
1:38
time because when it's finished, you're
1:41
going to be very surprised. You can take
1:45
as long as you like, but I would suggest
1:47
a minimum of 2 to three hours. On a pad,
1:52
I want you to write these things down in
1:54
chronological order from your earliest
1:58
childhood remembrances through your teen
2:00
years to age 25.
2:03
Your absolute favorite objects, toys for
2:06
example. Then as you progress into your
2:10
teenage years, you can also include
2:13
objects or perhaps even events. Your
2:16
first music concert, for example. Then
2:20
from there, you go into early adulthood.
2:24
Now, and this is very important, there
2:27
are two very specific instructions for
2:30
the list. First, this is not meant to be
2:33
a mile long list. is only intended to be
2:38
maybe five objects or events from each
2:42
stage of your life up to age 25.
2:47
Such as getting your driver's license or
2:50
first car or even a project such as
2:55
restoring a car that is going to be your
2:59
first car.
3:02
something that really sticks out in your
3:04
memory as very important at the time.
3:08
Second, you're only going to write down
3:11
objects or events that were good and of
3:14
a positive nature. Nothing associated
3:17
with unpleasantness or trauma.
3:20
Now, when you finish that, and please no
3:24
cheating or it will affect the outcome,
3:27
come back to the video.
3:30
So, if you're back now, and I'm hoping
3:33
you didn't cheat, listen to this little
3:35
personal story, so you will make a far
3:39
better connection with what I asked you
3:41
to do. Don't worry, it will all coalesce
3:45
and make sense shortly.
3:49
For reasons I can't exactly remember
3:52
because it was so long ago
3:55
when it came to getting my first car. I
3:59
was really a late bloomer by American
4:02
standards. I didn't get my driver's
4:05
license until I was 22 and didn't get my
4:09
first car until I was 23. Christ, I was
4:13
practically a grandpa.
4:16
But anyway, there are two things they
4:19
say you never forget. Well, at least if
4:23
you're a guy anyway. Your first girl.
4:26
I'm referring to the first girl I had
4:29
sex with, not the first girl I actually
4:31
kissed. And your first car.
4:36
Well, let's just talk about the car.
4:41
a 77 brown Dodson B210 hatchback
4:46
that I paid some college gal 350 bucks
4:49
for and it barely had any brakes.
4:53
By this time I was living on my own and
4:56
I made enough money through my
4:58
bluecollar job to do just a bit better
5:02
than getting by. My apartment was
5:05
certainly far from luxurious, but it was
5:08
mine. And now I had a car. I spent that
5:13
summer and a lot, if not all of my
5:17
surplus time and money fixing up that
5:20
car. I went to junkyards getting
5:23
matching secondhand body parts because I
5:27
wanted it to look like new with no
5:29
dents. In fact, as ridiculous as this
5:33
may sound, I wanted to do everything I
5:36
could to restore it to its former glory,
5:40
constantly washing and waxing it because
5:43
it was fulfilling my dream, my fantasy,
5:47
that it was a race car. It was a chick
5:50
car. Soon, as soon as she, not it, was
5:56
all good and restored, chicks would be
5:59
flocking to me for the local fame and
6:02
notoriety of riding in my car, my old
6:08
Jet Brown 77 Dodson B210 hatchback.
6:13
That delusion was quickly shattered when
6:17
I discovered that not only were chicks
6:20
not fighting over each other to ride in
6:23
my car, but when other guys I knew
6:27
actually pulled up to me at traffic
6:30
stops in nice actual chick cars that had
6:35
actual chicks in them. And I could tell
6:39
that they were laughing at my chick car.
6:43
Yep. The delusion was shattered. I had
6:47
an old ugly brown 77 Dodson B210
6:51
hatchback that had less power than a
6:54
lawn mower. And I'm not talking about
6:57
the kind you ride, but the kind you
6:59
push.
7:02
So, what does this story have to do with
7:04
everything that I asked you to do
7:07
previously? Short answer, everything.
7:11
The combination of you going into your
7:15
memories and writing down whatever you
7:17
did in combination with listening to my
7:21
story right after that was intended to
7:24
make certain
7:26
to put you into a state of advanced
7:29
perception. Now when you look at
7:31
everything on the list you created and
7:34
of course this is very personalized to
7:38
your life
7:40
what you should discover deeply discover
7:43
are the very big changes in your
7:45
feelings about all of those things you
7:48
so passionately cared about then
7:52
which you totally not only don't care
7:55
about now but you may have and I feel
7:59
really should have an embarrassed
8:01
feeling about that reflection. How on
8:05
earth could I have possibly felt so
8:08
passionately about this or about that
8:12
back then?
8:14
I would need at least another episode, a
8:17
part two of this subject to explore
8:19
that. But for now, I'll finish up by
8:22
saying this.
8:25
you felt the way you did because you
8:27
lacked the insight of proportionality.
8:30
This is not something as simple as
8:32
saying, "Oh, of course I felt that way
8:36
about this or about that. I was a child.
8:39
I was a teenager. I was a You were a
8:43
being that didn't know the concept of
8:46
personality just like myself until one
8:50
day I did. and so much in my life began
8:53
to change and improve.
8:56
Now, having said that, might you be
9:00
interested in buying a slightly used
9:03
chip brown 77 Dodson B210 hatchback?
9:08
The brakes are good.
9:12
I just wanted to take a moment to
9:14
introduce the Earnest Man Show tote bag,
9:17
which the crappy pictures from my crappy
9:20
camera don't do justice, but you can
9:23
check it out on my website via the link
9:25
in the description. It's a large quality
9:28
bag going for a very reasonable
9:30
donation. Thank you. I really hope you
9:34
found this helpful or interesting. And
9:36
if you want to know more or have any
9:39
questions at all, you can reach out to
9:41
me via my website link in the
9:44
description below. And if you really
9:46
want to give me a compliment, telling a
9:49
friend about the show would be the best
9:51
compliment you could ever give me. Until
9:55
next time, this is Ernest and I usually
9:58
always am.
