Stop fighting! The importance of recognizing tyranny, from the right or the left. Earnest Mann Podcast 361
Night Rants: Political Psychology with Stan
Hey everyone, it's Earnest Mann here! Picture this: a typical Friday night at my favorite watering hole, waiting for my next victim – any man who sits next to me and gets an earful of my unfiltered thoughts. I refrain from sharing these rants with women for obvious reasons.
An Unexpected Encounter with Stan
So, this guy named Stan sits next to me, and we immediately start chatting. It was refreshing not needing any icebreakers; Stan was ready to jump into a conversation about politics. But I wasn't in the mood for politics; I wanted to explore political psychology. I proposed this to Stan, and he was intrigued, but a bit hesitant.
The Illusion of Choice in Politics
Stan assumed I was a liberal who disliked Trump and adored Kamala Harris. I quickly clarified that while I don't like Trump, I don't think he's an idiot, and I'm not particularly fond of Harris either. This led to a discussion about the illusion of choice in politics – how people are divided by two political wings of the same bird, controlled by a higher power.
The Reality of Political Control
I explained to Stan that both political parties ultimately lead to tyranny, as they exercise power in an unreasonable and oppressive manner. This perspective left Stan stunned, but he appreciated the new insight and bought me a drink.

I was sitting in my usual Watering Hole on a Friday night wondering who my next victim was
0:13
going to be my Victim I'm referring to any man that sits down next to me and begins to
0:18
get an unsolicited earful of whatever rant that just happens to Ooze from the surface from my
0:25
unenthusiastic personality I say man because I would never say such things to a woman because
0:34
if I did I know I'd probably get slapped in the face and if I'm going to get slapped in
0:40
the face it should be for an entirely different reason hey folks I'm Ernest and it's Friday we
0:52
made it through another week of making our obscenely Rich owners even [ __ ] richer
1:00
so this guy named Stan sits down next to me and we exchanged pleasantries and I have to admit it was
1:07
really great that I didn't need any ice breakers at all it was already there St was locked cocked
1:15
and ready to rock and what did he want to talk about you may ask well what any two normal [ __ ]
1:24
men who meet in a bar instantaneously want to talk about politics but what Stan didn't know
1:35
was that I simply wasn't in the mood for politics I was in the mood for psychology
1:42
damn it so in the interest of fair play I offered stand the compromise of political psychology and
1:50
he liked that idea and but as I bought the next round I guess it dawned on him what the hell he
2:01
might be getting himself into and he quickly looked at me and said political what you see
2:10
Stan walked into the place ready for action like when you're in the Navy and you and the boys get
2:17
a three-day pass to blow off some steam and Guam or the Philippines the very first thing you're
2:24
looking for is a group of happy Carefree army guys now I bet you thought I was going to say
2:32
women nope women come later no pun intended the first order business is army versus Navy business
2:43
that means a good old bra no worries we were not there to smash up the place we both understood
2:51
the rules we always took it outside back then so Stan basically through the first intellectual pun
2:59
buch with a line like [ __ ] wait don't tell me I just happen to have the Good Fortune to sit down
3:08
next to a liberal who thinks Kamala Harris is great and Trump is an idiot right well it was
3:17
time for me to come back with the old onew punch the first punch went like this no I don't think
3:26
Donald Trump is an idiot there are several reasons I don't like him whatsoever but he certainly is is
3:34
not an idiot now the second punch I really can't think of anything that Cala Harris is great at
3:42
other than constantly and inappropriately laughing especially when there's nothing funny around for
3:49
a 100 miles I would absolutely take Forest Gump over Harris's president of the US any day stand un
3:59
unfortunately I'm not given that choice none of us are and that's the real issue here the illusion of
4:08
choice Stan Stan had a look of stunned disbelief he tried to gather his thoughts if I may continue
4:18
to use the boxing analogy I started and he had that look of a boxer seriously stunned and trying
4:25
desperately to get back on his feet and look stable before before the 10-second count was over
4:33
came back just under the wire desperately holding on saying well what the hell's that supposed to
4:41
mean now I'm not a boxer now I've never been in a boxing ring but I have had my share of bar fights
4:52
usually on the losing end and when I'm full of liquid courage that 6'2 gorilla didn't look that
5:01
tough but this time I wasn't drunk okay well not very drunk but I could see I had Stan on
5:10
the ropes so I went for it I'll tell you what it means Stan I said to him not a damn thing please
5:19
allow me just a few moments as a pause for the cause I know it's a real struggle bringing home
5:26
the bacon times are tough you don't have to tell me twice so if you enjoy what I do here
5:33
on the earnest man show would you please consider a donation I could really use some dough to keep
5:39
things going on around here and by clicking on my co-i donation Link in the description
5:46
below even just a cup of coffee would be very earnestly appreciated thank you now back to the
5:54
episode You See Stan there are are good people in both camps that have been absolutely convinced
6:04
that they are really they have a dog in this fight and that the other people are the problem
6:11
but the truth is far from that they are so busy absolutely hating each other that they
6:18
are failing to see the simple truth that in the bigger picture they are both simply two different
6:25
colored Wings on the same bird that bird is not controlled by either one of them that bird the US
6:34
government is controlled by a bird Master like a falconer controls their Falcon now at this point
6:43
Stan looked at me seriously and he said hold on hold on just for a moment for like a half second
6:52
I thought maybe he was getting mad I thought he was going to punch me or something then he said
6:59
said that deserves a round on me nobody ever really pointed that out to me before tell me
7:07
more I knew then and there that the fight was over and I'm sure as hell glad he didn't punch me now
7:17
as much as I would love to go on I need to wrap this up just for now let me just try to explain in
7:26
very brief why both parties ultimately represent tyranny and what tyranny is government or rule
7:36
tyranny is often used to describe a government in which a single ruler or a small group holds
7:43
absolute power without legal right often ruling oppressively now exercise of power well can also
7:53
refer to the cruel unreasonable or arbitrary use of power or controlled in any context not
8:02
just governmental so at the risk of sounding libertarian which I'm not what I'm telling you
8:14
is that under the exercise of power explanation you'll notice where it says you know any context
8:24
not just governmental that is a critical point it means means that at any time a certain group which
8:33
has banded together to enforce their will whether that be ideological or otherwise on another
8:40
individual or group the only objectively true arbitrator of that group's action Andor position
8:48
or process is an ethical examination of the facts and not necessarily even any pre-existing law
9:02
