An idiot walks into a bar
The Importance of Judging in Today's World
Hey there, Earnest Mann here! Today, I’m sharing an experience that really underscores the importance of judgment in navigating life’s challenges. A guy once sat next to me at a bar, delivering a lengthy monologue about his life without asking for a word in return. As he left, he thanked me for being a good listener, blissfully unaware that had I spoken, my thoughts would have been far less complimentary. This led me to reflect on something deeper: why is judgment such a taboo in today's society?
Why You Need to Embrace Judging Situations
Our society today frowns upon being “judgmental,” associating it with negativity or even comparing it to more extreme labels like racism. However, judgment is vital to survival. From analyzing the actions of authority figures to making split-second decisions in dangerous situations, judging people and circumstances isn't just a right—it's a necessity. Without the ability to judge, we become paralyzed by indecision.
The Myth of Being Non-Judgmental
Society’s pressure to be non-judgmental has left many, particularly the young and woke, trapped in existential crises over the simplest of decisions. I argue that being judgmental—when informed by knowledge and experience—actually leads to better decisions. The ability to judge has kept me safe in countless situations, and it's one of the key tools we have to move forward confidently in life.
The Bigger Picture: Life Isn't About Pleasing Everyone
The truth is, you can’t please everyone. Worrying about whether you’re going to be judged, or whether you’re judging others, only keeps you from living your life. Life is short, and we’re not here just to consume. We are meant to accomplish something meaningful, something that can help others.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm a deep thinking contrarian, a very pragmatic idiocythrope. I believe that function determines desirability and legitimacy. I don't like the superficial and/or pretentious, nor the shallow. I speak the truth as best as I know it.
With friends, I desire quality over quantity. I know some very important life truths I'm just waiting for you to ask about. I have found in life, many people talk about happiness, but are unwilling to pay the price for it, because even if they’re able to pay that price, they believe they shouldn't have to, because they are entitled to it, but I understand with absolute certainty, that such beliefs are typically due to stupidity, Insanity, or some degree of both.
This is not just another YouTube channel; I'm seeking to build a community of Intelligent thinkers daring to discuss, - and say - what the hell ever really needs to be said, so please help me, as well as others, by leaving your thoughts, and hopefully.... subscribing.
I believe we really can change the current status quo of an idiotic and fucked up purposeless treadmill existence, and actually improve this world, but it requires intelligence, honesty, and BALLS, all three of which are currently in short supply, especially the balls.
Thank you for taking the time, to read this, and remember to avoid anything or anyone stupid, as much as possible, your life will be far better for it.
Please consider, that by visiting the website and supporting this show, you're supporting an actual person, not some mega corporation, that wouldn't know human compassion if it hit them over the head! I look forward to you reaching out to me, and until next Monday or Friday remember, the world may be misinformed and crazy, but YOU, don’t have to be!

listen to this and tell me if you've
0:02
ever had this experience I'm sitting at
0:04
a bar having my drink guy walks in and
0:08
sits down next to me and a conversation
0:10
ensues I don't really say very much to
0:13
him as he goes on with his 20 minute
0:16
plus monologue then he thanks me for
0:20
being such a good listener I smiled and
0:22
thanked him as he walked away but what
0:25
he doesn't know it's a good idea I
0:27
didn't say anything to him because if I
0:30
did I would have told him what a [ __ ]
0:33
idiot I thought he
0:35
was if you work for a living why do you
0:39
kill yourself
0:41
working
0:44
greetings it occurred to me
0:47
lately that it's entirely possible
0:50
despite my best
0:53
efforts that some of you may not like
0:56
me and well that is what it is I mean
1:02
after all at least I think you'd have to
1:05
agree that um no one's going to like
1:09
every single person in the
1:11
world but reasons do
1:14
matter and I'm not
1:16
certain but I believe it could be
1:19
because I'm perhaps and perhaps this is
1:22
a huge
1:23
understatement I tend to be a bit
1:28
judgmental I I could almost laugh at
1:30
this well I am laughing at it so because
1:34
of that I thought it would be really
1:37
important to explain this um in case
1:41
just in case you wanted to
1:45
know my name is Ernest man and I am
1:48
professor of
1:50
tautology Frostbite
1:53
Falls one thing that you have to
1:56
understand is the physiology of the
1:58
brain and personality
2:01
development they are very intertwined
2:05
and that is no
2:08
joke basically it goes like
2:11
this the person that you are For Better
2:16
or For
2:17
Worse by the age of
2:21
25 and I know people are going to want
2:24
to um disagree with me on this but For
2:28
Better or For Worse you are who you are
2:32
for
2:34
life you are going to have the same
2:39
basic um personality and mindset for the
2:44
rest of your
2:46
life and I'm
2:49
sorry I didn't make that rule that's
2:53
what science has
2:56
proven now one of the things
3:00
um that I want to point out is that
3:03
because of
3:05
that the way it is supposed to work if
3:10
you want to have any success in this
3:13
world is you're supposed to take all of
3:17
that learning up that you've gathered no
3:21
matter who it's from or where it's from
3:25
all that life
3:26
experience and it all forms together
3:30
and you end up with
3:34
you and then you have to have the
3:39
courage past that point of making
3:42
judgments and yes that includes judging
3:47
people the problem with that is that we
3:51
have developed into a
3:55
society um much I feel to its detri
4:01
that that is a
4:02
fooa that is a bad thing even the word
4:07
judgment or you're being so
4:13
judgmental it's
4:15
evil it's I guess I don't know it it
4:18
kind of has been Incorporated and it's
4:21
being like being a racist or being a
4:23
Nazi or whatever the whatever the
4:26
hell
4:27
but it is because of
4:30
this that we
4:34
simply cannot function as individuals
4:39
because that is the stuff we're made
4:43
of in other words um in order the simple
4:49
facts of reality of life is that in
4:52
order for something to live something
4:55
else has to
4:57
die um
4:59
try explaining that having that
5:01
conversation with a a vegan
5:05
sometime boy that could run you really
5:07
run your your ass around in nonsensical
5:12
circles for 3 hours but we're not going
5:15
to do that and I'm not going to do that
5:18
a matter of fact I [ __ ] refuse to do
5:21
that because I have at least a semi
5:25
functional
5:27
brain I didn't drink the Kool-Aid of
5:31
acceptability so what what I gave what I
5:34
talked about in the intro what it boils
5:36
down to is that the older that you get
5:41
and this is also based on your life
5:44
experience you have to for the sake of
5:48
your own
5:49
Survival this is about your survival
5:52
which could be the survival of not just
5:55
you of say your family if you got uh you
5:58
know wife kids or what have you it's all
6:01
tied
6:02
together and
6:04
so if you're in a
6:07
situation um and a very important
6:10
situation and those around you who are
6:15
supposed to be figures of
6:17
authority um but they turn out to be
6:22
well an idiot well following that and
6:26
unquestioning that can get you [ __ ]
6:29
killed
6:31
now on the other hand I am not saying
6:34
like a Rebel Without a
6:37
Cause that you should just you know
6:40
constantly question authority because
6:43
again if you do that that in and of
6:47
itself is
6:49
idiotic so that's not good
6:52
either in my case the way I process this
6:56
is that I I try to be a very good
6:58
listener
7:00
and I look for you know things as far as
7:04
um well if there's if there's a logic to
7:09
you know of of what logical
7:12
progression with what they're saying how
7:14
it ties in and how everything they're
7:17
saying ties in with what I know as a
7:23
realist so I mean even the the most base
7:26
simple example would be this if if you
7:30
have two let's say you have two deluded
7:34
delusional people okay
7:37
okay um they're at a bar I know know
7:41
else to say they're at a
7:43
bar and there's nothing wrong with
7:46
having a beer or drinks if you're you
7:48
know Catholic or whatnot but if you're a
7:52
Catholic and you know someone is another
7:57
form of Christian besides
7:59
you
8:01
well you have
8:04
two different
8:07
states of
8:10
delusion but they only you know they
8:13
only uh it's only in the very
8:15
particulars of
8:17
it because you're both still crazy
8:22
Christians and you believe that
8:25
Spiritual Beings or something actually
8:28
have a profound interest in your life
8:32
they have nothing better to do in the
8:35
[ __ ] universe that they're constantly
8:38
watching what you're doing in your
8:42
life and on top of that if you cross the
8:46
line and you do anything bad that a
8:50
certain book says you shouldn't do well
8:54
they're going to they're going to do
8:56
something they're going to Smite you and
8:58
some they're going to mark you down they
9:01
depending and depending on the offense
9:04
they might want to send you straight to
9:10
hell I don't I don't live in in that
9:14
World um because um well as I have
9:19
already stated several times I think
9:21
it's bad [ __ ]
9:22
crazy but here's the thing as far as
9:25
being judgmental
9:28
relax because because it's that
9:30
judgment that keeps your [ __ ] ass
9:33
alive and keeps your ass moving through
9:36
life it does so yeah you're going to
9:40
have to move out of your comfort zone
9:42
and you're going to have to make some
9:43
snap judgments about things and
9:46
sometimes without a lot of warning and
9:49
it's important that you do
9:54
that when everything comes up with every
9:58
possibility you know you can't go into
10:01
it in a in a you don't have the time you
10:03
don't have the luxury of going into
10:06
things and having a metaphysical [ __ ]
10:10
discussion within yourself about
10:14
it um you know I got a say a a crazy
10:19
person in a social setting and they're
10:22
coming at me with a a weapon a knife or
10:26
what have you um my brain tells me to
10:31
either disarm or kill the
10:34
[ __ ] or try to run and get the
10:36
hell out of the way whatever I can
10:39
do but it's not time to have a therapy
10:42
session with them or with
10:45
myself considering well just because
10:48
they have a weapon they look crazy and
10:51
they're running towards you your
10:53
reaction if you do something and you
10:56
you're that's just you're being sted to
10:59
typical you're
11:01
being
11:04
judgmental we don't want any judgmental
11:07
and
11:08
anything right so what do you do in life
11:12
well you you sit around and you have
11:16
fear you can't judge anything suddenly
11:19
there can't be any right or wrong there
11:21
can't be any intuition there can't be
11:24
really anything when you break it all
11:27
down and if you just set a side the
11:30
rhetoric and the [ __ ] that's what it
11:32
does to
11:34
you me I don't live by such [ __ ] up
11:38
rules I call a spade a
11:40
spade and uh you know I judge something
11:44
I look at and yes I am [ __ ]
11:47
judgmental and it's done a pretty good
11:50
job of keeping my ass well in fairly
11:53
decent shape all these years and quite
11:56
frankly on more than one occasion it's
12:00
actually saved my life please allow me
12:04
just a few moments as a pause for the
12:07
cause I know it's a real struggle
12:09
bringing home the bacon times are tough
12:12
you don't have to tell me twice so if
12:15
you enjoy what I do here on the earnest
12:18
man show would you please consider a
12:21
donation I could really use some dough
12:23
to keep things going on around here and
12:26
by clicking on my co-i Don Link in the
12:30
description below even just a cup of
12:32
coffee would be very earnestly
12:36
appreciated thank you now back to the
12:41
episode
12:43
so the reason why I'm telling you all of
12:48
this is that if you if if there's any
12:51
any of you people out there are
12:53
particularly really young woke people or
12:55
something and they absolutely can't
12:58
stand that and then
13:00
you you know you get to the point in
13:02
your life whereas doing the simplest
13:05
things like the clothes that you're
13:07
going to put on before you leave to
13:09
start your day when
13:11
everything becomes a [ __ ] existential
13:16
crisis because you can't make a
13:19
decision because you're worried about me
13:23
being
13:28
judgmental that's what puts people
13:31
[ __ ]
13:33
crazy so as I started out saying you
13:36
know I meet a guy and he's terminally
13:39
you know
13:40
idiotic I have my conclusion and I
13:44
believed this his his entire thing that
13:48
he was telling me was basically idiotic
13:51
my bigger point is is that that's okay
13:54
and I want to qualify this it doesn't
13:57
mean and I'm not saying it is you're not
14:00
going to be
14:02
right all the
14:04
time sometimes you're
14:07
wrong but more often than not the more
14:10
knowledge you
14:11
gain you are right your intuition is
14:14
right and you're right and it's okay to
14:17
go with that there's nothing wrong with
14:21
that it's certainly beats sitting around
14:26
and you're completely
14:30
immobilized with
14:32
fear with the absolute
14:36
trepidation of worrying about what
14:40
others might think or what would they do
14:44
or how would they feel if they saw me
14:47
and acting like this or talking like
14:52
this well one thing very quickly that I
14:56
could tell you this is that you know a a
14:59
lot of actions regardless of their
15:02
intent they're um they're they're
15:08
subjective you simply you
15:11
cannot you can't just look at other
15:14
people and situations and be constantly
15:17
worried about how you're going to be
15:20
viewed or if it's correct or not because
15:23
you don't
15:24
know and honestly in the bigger picture
15:27
really doesn't [ __ ] matter as a
15:31
matter of fact I can tell you that the
15:33
older you get there are so many things
15:37
that used to mean so
15:41
much they don't they don't mean for [ __ ]
15:45
they just don't are there things in life
15:48
that have meaning absolutely you bet
15:50
their ass there is there are quite a few
15:54
things but there's a lot that
15:57
doesn't and worrying about um the words
16:01
or [ __ ] pronouns that you use or just
16:06
judging people or being judged and it's
16:08
just
16:09
look you know move
16:12
on move on with your
16:14
life life is far too short to be worried
16:18
about all that
16:19
[ __ ] you're supposed to get
16:22
something done that is the real reason
16:25
for you or I or basically anyone one
16:29
being here you're not here to be
16:33
consumers you're not here to be just
16:36
consumers you know having redundant
16:39
protoplasm and consuming until you
16:42
[ __ ] grow old and die you're supposed
16:45
to actually accomplish something and
16:47
hopefully maybe even something that
16:51
helps other
16:53
people and uh yeah that uh doesn't
16:58
really
16:59
include making hundreds of millions
17:03
of billions of [ __ ]
17:09
dollars um because
17:12
um I
17:14
believe that people like Elon
17:17
Musk and uh Jeff
17:21
Brazos people of that
17:23
ilk are some of the most [ __ ] up human
17:27
beings if even want to call them
17:30
that that I've ever witnessed in my
17:34
life and
17:38
yeah I'm
17:40
being
17:45
judgmental ah here's actual footage of
17:48
my great granddaddy man but unlike him
17:52
